1) Dammit. Ronald McDonald is, in my mind, as much of a president as Reagan ever was. In other words, we live in a capitalist oligarchy.

2) This incorrect answer led to the deletion of my entire nice post.

3) I'd love to host a Portland Web Innovators meeting in my cafe, the Equator Cafe. This desire to host it was much more eloquently worded in the aformentioned post, but in a nutshell, I used to be a web programmer and it'd be rather cool if you wanted to meet in our space. I've even got whiteboards we can break out. If you're interested come by sometime and let's talk about it.

4) Thanks - // -Ian

[...] * That’s actually what I really dig about Portland Web Innovators. It’s a group of local people using the Web in all sorts of ways. And it’s fairly technology agnostic. And we haven’t yet had a catfight over clients. Maybe that’s a sign of good economic signs… [...]

[...] Adam got the ball rolling with his post. I’ll spread the word a little more here. We’re looking to start a new, more informal group for Portland web types to get together. Inspired by groups in Boston and San Francisco, we’re calling it Portland Web Innovators. We know there are many great developers, designers, and entrepreneurs around, so check out the wiki and sign up if you’re interested. [...]
